“The Craft” Remake Goes Direct-To-VOD?

Amazon Prime Video have announced an October 27th rental and purchase VOD release date this year for “The Craft,” the Blumhouse-produced modern update of the iconic 1996 teen supernatural drama feature.

Zoe Lister Jones penned and helmed the film which appears to be bypassing theaters and jumping straight to video on demand, despite a somewhat higher profile than most Blumhouse productions.

This ‘continuation’ of the original follows a group of high school students that form a coven of witches. Cailee Spaeny, Gideon Adlon, Lovie Simone, and Zoey Luna lead the cast as the teen witches while David Duchovny and Michelle Monaghan also star.

No trailer of publicity material for the film has emerged as yet, nor if Blumhouse will try and offer a theatrical run of some kind (nothing is on the schedule at the moment).
