Tim Allen has earned another year at Fox.
The network announced that it is picking up Last Man Standing for a second season. The sitcom that formerly aired on ABC has improved upon the network’s performance on Fridays at 8 p.m. by 50% in adults 18-49 and 112% in total viewers.
The series’ return will mark its second season on Fox, and eighth in total.
“Hard to believe Last Man Standing hits 150 episodes this week and it gets better with another upcoming season at Fox!” said Allen in a statement. “Great news for all of us who are creating these stories and working our pants off to make you all laugh. It’s another big high-five to the legions of loyal fans who have faithfully kept us front and center and huge on the radar. Thanks to our family at Fox who continue to make us feel so at home. Man, if we keep this up, they might have to call our show, Last Man Unable to Stand.”
Friday’s 150th episode is titled “Yass Queen.” Here’s the official logline: Mike (Allen) tries to help Mandy (Molly McCook) get her clothing line off the ground and into stores by inviting her to sit in on a business meeting with an aggressive sales rep (guest star Melissa Peterman). Meanwhile, Ed (Hector Elizondo) hires Kyle (Christoph Sanders) to transcribe his life story.”
The series also stars Nancy Travis, Amanda Fuller, Jordan Masterson, Jonathan Adams, Jet Jurgensmeyer, and Krista Marie Yu.
Last Man Standing airs Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox. The series was created by Jack Burditt.
