Tom Holland Wants To Play James Bond, Teases Other Future Roles

Actor Tom Holland has his eye on a major role he’d like to play in the future, and it’s none other than British superspy James Bond.

Speaking to Variety, Holland said he would “love to be James Bond” someday. “But I mean, ultimately, as a young British lad who loves cinema, I’d love to be James Bond. So, you know, I’m just putting that out there. I look pretty good in a suit,” he said.

Actor Daniel Craig is ending his role as 007 after No Time To Die releases in October. There is no word yet on who will replace him in the inevitable follow-up.

George Lazenby is the youngest-ever actor to play James Bond in a feature film; he was 29 years old when he filmed On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Holland will turn 25 years old this June.

Also in the interview, Holland teased that he has two upcoming roles that he’s very excited to announce–but he can’t just yet. “I’ve got two roles coming up that I’m playing in the next few years that I’m really excited about, but I can’t talk about them yet,” he said.

Holland is staying very busy. We’ll see him next in the drama Cherry, in which he plays a former soldier who robs banks to pay for his drug addiction. The movie, which was written and directed by Avengers veterans Joe and Anthony Russo, comes to Apple TV+ on February 26. He’s also set to appear as a young Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movie coming to theatres in 2022. Additionally, Holland is currently filming the next Spider-Man movie, which he said is the most ambitious standalone superhero film of all time.
