Tom Kerridge has deleted an Instagram post in which he outed a diner who allegedly left one of his restaurants without paying the bill.
The TV chef posted three photos of the suspect, who he says ‘did a runner’ on Thursday from the Butcher’s Tap and Grill in upmarket Marlow, Buckinghamshire.
He shared it with his 583,000 followers on Instagram but has since deleted the post.
Mr Kerridge wrote: ‘If you know him, could you please let him know he owes me £28.50 and he’s a massive bell**d.’
Fellow TV cook Gizzi Erskine joked that the suspect was ‘quite fit’, while another social media follower suggested he should have worn a mask.
Ben Manning quipped: ‘£28.50 from one of your places, he must have had a tap water and a bread basket.’
Katie Segal added: ‘Oh my God, can you imagine if he just forgot.’
Others offered support, including TV hairdresser Aidan Phelan, who said: ‘Shameful, unbelievable and bang out of order brother.’
Nicola Wood added:’ The industry has been through the worst time and to do that is dreadful.’
Anne O’Hare suggested that Mr Kerridge should have the suspect’s details as customers are meant to check in using their phones for the Government’s Covid track and trace system.
Metro.co.uk has approached Mr Kerridge for comment. Thames Valley Police said there was nothing in its records about the incident.
