Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has said his team is ‘ready to fight’ for the Carabao Cup after they reached the final of the competition.
His side beat Brentford 2-0 in North London thanks to goals from Moussa Sissoko and Heung-Min Son either side of half time.
Brentford’s defenders saw a lack of concentration cost them in just the 12th-minute, as Sissoko drifted into the box and headed home from a Sergio Reguilon cross.

The second half saw Spurs miss numerous good chances to double their lead.
Brentford then managed to put the ball in the back of the next thanks to Ivan Toney. Spurs failed to deal with a cross, allowing Toney to head home following a hand from Hugo Lloris.
The goal was subsequently ruled out by VAR for offside.
Mourinho watched from the sideline as his team finally doubled their lead in the 70th-minute. Star man Son was played through by Tanguy Ndombele after some nice play from Harry Kane.
He finished off the chance with an emphatic strike to all but ensure their spot in the final.
Speaking after the victory, Mourinho told Sky Sports (via BBC Sport): “It’s a game that takes us to a final and probably, but I hope not, an empty Wembley final. Of course I’m very happy. We’ve had London derbies and other games but this is the match that took us to a final.
“The final is now in our pocket for three months, we have to wait for the final so we have to focus on what we have coming up. We have the FA Cup, the Premier League, the Europa league, so let’s forget the final for now. But when April arrives we have to be ready to fight for the trophy.
“The game was always under control. They had the offside goal, when the ball goes in the air you cannot press the ball, you just have to try to get to the first and second ball.
“There was penetration on the right side and Davinson Sanchez was clever not to touch the guy. We didn’t play brilliantly, sometimes [we made the] wrong decisions, sometimes an extra touch. But the game was always under control against a team that will probably be in the Premier League next year.”
Spurs’ next fixture is against Marine in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday.
