Ming-Na Wen, Laurie Metcalf and Martha Kelly will recur while Margaret Cho will guest star in the second season of HBO’s Emmy-winning comedy “Hacks”.
The new run sees the dark mentorship between legendary Las Vegas comedian Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and her young, entitled writer Ava (Hannah Einbinder) continue to evolve as the two travel across the country workshopping Deborah’s new stand-up act.
Specifics of who the actors are playing are under wraps. They join returnees Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Jane Adams, Christopher McDonald, Kaitlin Olson, Paul W. Downs, Poppy Liu, Rose Abdoo, Mark Indelicato, Meg Stalter, Angela E. Gibbs, Johnny Sibilly, Joe Mande, Ally Maki, and Lorenza Izzo.
The series is created and showrun by Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello and Jen Statsky with the second season expected in late 2022.
