Update: Xur has left the solar system for the weekend of Friday, May 20, and taken his Exotic spoils with him. Here’s what Xur is stocking for the May 28-June 1 weekend.
Destiny 2’s Season of the Splicer is bringing back an old Destiny 1 favorite: the Vault of Glass raid. It launches on Saturday, May 22, which makes this a great time to visit our old buddy Xur to check out his haul of Exotic weapons and armor. Here’s where to find him this weekend and what he’s selling.
Head to the Tower, in the Hangar area, to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering Monte Carlo. Hunters can pick up the Gemini Jester leg armor; for Titans, there’s the Dunemarchers leg armor; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Astrocyte Verse helmet.
Xur Location
Spawn in at the Tower’s central transmat zone and head left, down the stairs, into the Hangar. When you get there, hang another left and head to the north end of the area. Take the catwalk stairs up to find Xur standing on a platform near the Tower’s edge.
Xur returns to the solar system every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday. The thing is, where he’ll land isn’t known until he actually arrives. Xur can hang out at one of several locations, including in the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher’s Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ. We’ll update this post upon Xur’s arrival with a full rundown of where he’s located, how you can find him, and what he’s carrying. His inventory also changes each week, so it’s worth revisiting him on the weekends for new weapons and rolls on Exotic armor.
Xur Exotic Items
With the kick off of the Vault of Glass raid, Xur is offering Monte Carlo as his weapon. This powerful assault rifle is good in a lot of situations, thanks to the fact that it gets damage buffs both from scoring kills and when you use your melee while carrying it. If you’re not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don’t already own. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it–so if you’re trying to get a new Titan helmet, don’t buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower’s Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.
- Exotic Engram — 97 legendary shards
- Monte Carlo — 29 legendary shards
- Gemini Jester — 23 legendary shards
- Dunemarchers — 23 legendary shards
- Astrocyte Verse — 23 legendary shards
- Xenology quest — free
Each week, Xur offers one Exotic weapon and three pieces of Exotic armor, one for each character class. The inventory is random, as are the stat rolls you can expect on each of his armor offerings, so if you’re looking to fill out your collection or if you’re hoping for better versions of Exotics you already have, it’s worth visiting him. Xur also brings an Exotic Engram, which is guaranteed to drop something you don’t already have, if there are Exotics missing from your collection on that particular character–but that doesn’t include Exotics you have to earn through activities, including the new Exotic armors added each season, which can only be claimed from Legendary or Master Lost Sectors.
Monte Carlo (Assault Rifle)
Punching and shooting go hand-in-hand with Monte Carlo. First, whenever you nab a kill with either the gun or your melee ability, Monte Carlo gets a damage boost. Next, melee kills refund ammo to the gun’s magazine. And finally, dealing damage with the gun reduces your melee cooldown, while kills have a chance of fully recharging your melee ability. In short, you get all kinds of benefits from mixing bullets with fists when using this assault rifle, making it powerful in both PvE activities and the Crucible.
Gemini Jester (Hunter)
While there are other Exotics that give you more dodges, amp up your invisibility capabilities, or even heal you when you dodge, Gemini Jester uses the Hunter ability to mess with other people. The Exotic removes the radar of nearby enemies when you dodge, while also disorienting them. In the Crucible, that can make a world of difference in a close-range fight, so if you like high-mobility Hunter builds, this one might work for you.

Dunemarchers (Titan)
Dunemarchers work to increase the power of your already ridiculous Titan melee abilities. When you sprint around the battlefield, you’ll build up a static charge, which creates chain lightning when you finally execute a melee attack on your opponents. That lightning will leap to other enemies, making it possible to seriously hurt or even kill enemies who aren’t the one you just wailed on with your knee. Dunemarchers are a solid mainstay in the Crucible, and that lightning arcs pretty far, so melee-focused Titans will want to give this one a shot.

Astrocyte Verse (Warlock)
The Blink jump ability for Warlocks can be devastating in the Crucible. When you use it, you zip out of existence for a brief moment, making it really tough for your enemies to track you, especially at close ranges. Astrocyte Verse makes your Blink even more useful–you’ll go farther when you Blink and you can use the ability more frequently. You also keep your radar active when you Blink and ready your weapons more quickly as you land, which means you get an advantage over your enemies. Use this Exotic to completely disorient foes, especially in PvP.
