Wyatt Russell Won’t Play Snake Plissken

Actor Wyatt Russell has been getting a lot of attention lately for his role as John Walker in Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” series.

The actor, who is also the son of acting legends Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, has been making a name for himself in various films and shows in recent years like “Everybody Wants Some,” “Lodge 49,” “Overlord” and “The Good Lord Bird”.

With his star continuing to rise, he was recently asked by Esquire if he had plans to tackle one of his dad’s most iconic roles in the long-discussed reboot of John Carpenter’s classic “Escape From New York” which, at last report, had Leigh Whannell attached to write. Russell says he has no plans to do so:

“Although that’s very kind, that will not be happening. There will be no Snake reboot from me, that’s like career suicide 101. That’s like what not to do. I don’t know if anybody else could be Snake Plissken.

Good luck, go get ’em, I sincerely wish you the best of luck. I just don’t know how it’s possible. And for me, if I really wanted to get people sending me hate mail, I think that’s what I should do. I will not be ever doing anything like that.”

Russell will soon be seen in the Amy Adams-led psychological thriller “The Woman in the Window” which hits Netflix on May 14th.
