Whether the ninth main film in the “Fast and Furious” franchise will stick with its May 28th release date at present is unclear.
In fact the release of this Superbowl TV spot today, which very visibly says “In Theaters Soon” as opposed to a specific date, suggests the film may well be on the move again soon.
The clip, also showing mostly new footage, delivers the physics ridiculousness we’ve come to expect from this franchise from cars driving on their sides to inertia, mass and momentum all being highly malleable properties depending upon the circumstance.
Justin Lin‘s, who helmed the third through sixth films, returns for the new entry with John Cena joining the various returnees as they move across London, Tokyo, Edinburgh, Tbilisi, Azerbaijan and Central America.
