Brendan Fraser To Play “Batgirl” Villain

Brendan Fraser has scored the role of the villain in the upcoming “Batgirl” movie for Warner Bros. Pictures and HBO Max. The role is reportedly that of Batman villain Firefly.

Leslie Grace stars as the superhero who is also Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Gotham police commissioner Jim Gordon (J.K. Simmons). Jacob Scipio also stars.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (“Bad Boys for Life”) directs from a script by Christina Hodson (“Birds of Prey”). Kristin Burr is producing.

This marks Fraser’s second DC role of late, he currently voices Robotman in HBO Max’s “Doom Patrol”. “Batgirl” will premiere directly on HBO Max in 2022.
