“Star Wars” alum Daisy Ridley is set to star in the futuristic thriller “Mind Fall” with Mathieu Kassovitz (“La Haine,” “Gothika”) attached to direct the script from Graham Moore (“The Imitation Game”).
Wild Bunch International is launching sales on the hot prospect, which heralds from Jeff Robinov’s Studio 8 (Hypnotic). John Graham is also producing for Studio 8.
The story takes place in near-future London where the most sought-after drug on the black market is memories – ones physically removed from one person’s brain and implanted into another’s using new illegal technology.
Ridley plays Ardis Varnado, a top trafficker in this field who battles her own addiction to the memories – struggling to distinguish between the life she’s lived and the memories she has implanted.
When she’s accused of murdering one of her clients, she decides to solve the crime herself and question everything she’s ever thought to be real. The project marks Kassovitz’s first film in over a decade.
