Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool has joined the MCU – sort of.
With 20th Century Studios’ Ryan Reynolds-led comedy “Free Guy” finally coming out after multiple delays, the marketing team have come up with an idea that avoids the ho-humness of yet another trailer.
Enter Reynolds getting back into costume as Deadpool and being joined by his “Free Guy” co-star Taika Waititi who reprises his MCU role of Korg from “Thor: Ragnarok” in a clip that skewers the YouTube reaction video genre.
The pair plonk down on a couch for a new nearly five-minute trailer reaction video with both characters watching and discussing a “Free Guy” trailer. Cue wisecracks about “Cruella,” fridging, Ryan Reynolds’ punchable face, Disney+ shows and more.
This essentially marks Deadpool’s first appearance under the Disney brand name though is hardly MCU canon per se. “Free Guy” arrives in cinemas on August 13th.
