Fifth Gamestop Project In Works At Hbo

Yet another project related to the GameStop stock market squeeze is in the works, this one a scripted feature film at HBO.

This one hails from “Billions” creator and “Too Big to Fail” writer Andrew Ross Sorkin, HBO Films chief Len Amato, and prolific genre producer Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions.

It is described as an exploration of how a populist uprising of social media day traders beat Wall Street at their own game, turning the stock market upside down and shaking the financial world to its core.

It joins at least three other films and a TV series in the works based on the still-unfolding story. Others include a Mark Boal-penned and Noah Centineo-led scripted film, MGM’s adaptation of Ben Mezrich’s book proposal “The Antisocial Network,” a feature documentary from the “Console Wars” team, and the multi-narrative TV series “To the Moon”.
