Ahead of the show’s fifth season premiere on June 20th, the Adult Swim YouTube channel has offered two treats for fans of animated comedy smash “Rick and Morty”.
The first is the full official trailer for the new season, the second overall so far. There’s also a 17-minute pixel animation by renowned 8-bit artist Paul Robertson titled “Rick and Morty in the Eternal Nightmare Machine”.
The new trailer includes more of the Voltron parody amidst all the usual alien fights and landscapes, cyberpunk birds, Rick as a giant holo projection, even some self brain surgery.
The 8-bit clip is very akin to 1990s arcade games, punching and shooting enemies they’ve encountered in the first four seasons which are available on HBO Max right now. Check out both clips below:
