While Disney hasn’t released any viewership stats at this point, independent analytics firm Samba TV is reporting that 1.5 million U.S. households turned into Marvel Studios’ “Hawkeye” on Disney+ over the five-day holiday.
Samba, which measures a sample of 3 million U.S. households, says around 1.3 million stuck around for the second episode.
To put that number in comparison, the previous Marvel Studios live-action series “Loki” premiered to 2.5 million U.S. households over its first five days back in June – and was still reaching 1.9 million viewers by its finale. On a premiere-to-premiere comparison, that’s a drop of 40%.
“Hawkeye” was also behind the debuts of “Falcon and the Winter Soldier” (1.8 million) and “WandaVision” (1.6 million), but none of those shows debuted over an extended holiday weekend as “Hawkeye” did.
Reviews for “Hawkeye” have praised the series which also drew 10,000 viewers in Australia for its first episode according to the firm.
