The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has issued an email asking film and TV productions in the area to “strongly consider” pausing operations for a few weeks.
The request is said to be due to the catastrophic surge in the pandemic currently happening across California, which has officially become the first state within the United States to surpass two million COVID-19 cases.
The recent surge has resulted in crowded hospitals and the likely extension of California’s current stay-at-home order. Music, TV and film productions are allowed to operate at present under stringent health guidelines.
