Microsoft Corporation is reportedly in the running to buy Discord Inc., one of the world’s biggest gaming community platforms, in what could be a deal worth over $10 billion reports Bloomberg.
The site says this is all still a preliminary discussion as Discord is approaching potential buyers before deciding if they’ll sell the company or go public.
One of the article’s sources indicates “Discord is more likely to go public than sell itself,” whilst other tech giants like Epic Game and Amazon have also reportedly had talks.
So far, Discord has not made any official public statement about its possible sale.
Microsoft has been aggressively expanding its gaming services, snatching up a bunch of game studios and more recently its high profile acquisition of publisher Bethesda.
