More Cobra Kai Seasons Planned Out
Netflix

The creators of “Cobra Kai” have an endpoint in mind, but speaking this weekend during the PGA Awards the team seems to be in no hurry to get there.

The former YouTube series turned Netflix sensation released its fourth season on New Year’s Eve, but has already wrapped filming of its fifth season which hasn’t set a release date yet.

Previously producer Josh Heald has teased the fifth season is a big one for the series with new elements brought in, and that writing is already underway on the sixth season.

There’s also no indication that a sixth season will be the last with co-creator Hayden Schlossberg re-affirming to Deadline they’ve already mapped out several years more:

“We have an end in mind. How many seasons it takes to get there, we don’t know. We’re enjoying making it so much. If it gets tiring to us, we’ll stop before that; we have a few more seasons already planned out.”

Heald meanwhile says there will be repercussions in regards to the events at the end of the fourth season:

“The bad guys won in Season 4, so there’s going to be some hell to pay, whether there’s more hellfire or retribution. There’s lot of people punching each other, kicking other, but the story is going to go in a new way that no one can possibly predict.”

The fourth season of “Cobra Kai” launched to not only the best reviews of the already well-regarded series thus far, but easily took the top spot on Netflix on its launch week and saw 120 million hours of viewing in its first three days – on par with the streamer’s biggest hits.
