The full cast has been announced for “Young Rock,” the upcoming NBC comedy series executive produced by and starring Dwayne Johnson and is set to premiere in 2021.
The series charts Johnson’s childhood from growing up in a strong and resilient family, to being surrounded by the wild characters of his professional wrestling family, to playing football at the University of Miami.
Bradley Constant plays Johnson at 15. while Uli Latukefu will play him from the ages of 18 to 20 when he had just been recruited to play football on a scholarship at the University of Miami.
The cast will also include Stacey Leilua as strongly positive mother Ata Johnson, Joseph Lee Anderson as his charismatic father, and Ana Tuisila as Lia Maivia, Dwayne’s sweet (but ruthless in business) grandmother.
Production on the series is officially underway. Nahnatchka Khan co-wrote the pilot with Jeff Chiang with both executive producing alongside Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, and Brian Gewirtz.
