New Faces In “Orville” S3 First Photo

Hulu

After nearly three years off the air and filming that took nearly two years to complete due to pandemic complications, Seth MacFarlane’s ‘old school Star Trek’-esque sci-fi series “The Orville” is finally set to return on March 10th 2022 with weekly episodes.

Boasting the new title “The Orville: New Horizons,” a first look photo from this third season has been released and shows several returning cast members along with some new faces.

Confirmed returnees include Captain Ed Mercer (MacFarlane), Commander Kelly Grayson (Adrianne Palicki), pilot Lt. Gordon Malloy (Scott Grimes), and Isaac (Mark Jackson) who are all pictured – as is Victor Garber reprising his guest role of Admiral Halsey.

Not here but definitely coming back are Dr. Finn (Penny Johnson Jerald), Lt. Cmdr. Bortus (Peter Macon), Lt. Talla Keyali (Jessica Szohr), Lt. Cmdr. John LaMarr (J. Lee), Klyden (Chad L. Coleman) and Lt. Yaphit (Norm Macdonald).

In the picture, we see three new characters including President Alcuzan (Bruce Boxleitner), Senator Balask (Lisa Banes), and new regular Ensign Charly Burke (Anne Winters). Not pictured, but also set to appear this year, is former “The 100” leading lady Eliza Taylor.

The series has either ten or eleven episodes, and due to it being a Hulu exclusive it’s expected each episode will run several minutes longer than when it was on FOX. MacFarlane and Jon Cassar helmed the new run that, should it do well, could lead to a potential fourth season.
