Lance Reddick, Lucas Hedges, Andre Holland, and Terrence Howard will join Regina King in John Ridley’s new film “Shirley” at Netflix, Participant and King’s Royal Ties Productions.
Christina Jackson, Michael Cherrie, Dorian Missick, Amirah Vann, W. Earl Brown and newcomer Ethan Jones Romero are also onboard.
The film follows trailblazing political icon Shirley Chisholm (King) – the first Black Congresswoman and the first Black woman to run for President of the U.S. – and the cost of that accomplishment on Shirley herself.
Specifics of what roles the actors will play have not been released. Ridley, King, Reina King, Anikah McLaren and Elizabeth Haggard produce.
