Quick News: Extraction, Enola, Words, Witcher
Filmmaker Sam Hargrave has announced on his Instagram account that filming has kicked off on the action feature “Extraction 2” in Prague with Chris Hemsworth returning as Australian black-ops mercenary Tyler Rake.
While the first film was set mostly in Bangladesh, the follow-up will take Rake to much colder environments. Joe Russo penned the script and produces it alongside Anthony Russo. [Source: Instagram]
Enola Holmes 2
Actor Henry Cavill has revealed that he has finished filming his scenes as Sherlock Holmes in the upcoming “Enola Holmes” sequel on Netflix.
Millie Bobby Brown, Louis Partridge and Helena Bonham also return and are joined by David Thewlis, Sharon Duncan-Brewster and Hannah Dodd among others in the film which will hit Netflix likely sometime next year. [Source: Instagram]
You Will Find the Words
British filmmaker Peter Webber (“Tutankhamun,” “Hannibal Rising”) is attached to direct an English-language adaptation of the Italian psychological thriller “You Will Find the Words” at Fenix Entertainment. Filming begins in Spring 2023 in Italy.
A currently unannounced Oscar-nominated screenwriter is on board to adapt the book by Marco Franzoso which centers around a man with a terminal illness whose chance encounters on a park bench with a woman in an abusive marriage leads to an extreme act. The film is said to be only a very loose adaptation. [Source: Variety]
Netflix has premiered a new clip from the second season of “The Witcher” ahead of the show’s return in a few weeks. Henry Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia takes on a giant centipede-like ‘Myriapod’ in a short clip released to social media. The new season will launch on December 17th.
