Grammy-nominated multiplatinum rapper DMX has died at the age of 50. According to a hospital statement, DMX suffered a “catastrophic cardiac arrest” and was rushed there from his home on April 2nd.
Born Earl Simmons, DMX died with relatives by his side after several days on life support. He had struggled with drug addiction and legal battles over the years despite his success.
Along with his music, he starred in several films including 1998’s “Belly,” 2000’s “Romeo Must Die,” 2001’s “Exit Wounds” and 2003’s “Cradle 2 the Grave”.
Survivors include his 15 children and his mother.
