The longest-running primetime scripted series in TV history, “The Simpsons,” will add two more seasons to its record with Fox renewing the Emmy-winner through to 2023.
That will bring the show up to 34 seasons and 757 episodes in total. This season the show is averaging 7.0 million viewers across all platforms, a +146% lift from Live+Same Day.
Indeed the premiere last year was its highest-rated return in five years for the show, its most-watched launch in six years and the most-streamed premiere ever on Hulu and Fox Now.
FOX is also majorly expanding its animation portfolio with not only multi-season renewals for much of its line-up, but plans for a new night of animation for its line-up with seven series this year and at least one more next year.
