Zack Snyders Army Set For May 21St
Netflix

Zack Snyder has revealed that his in-development “Army of the Dead” sequel has scored the title of “Planet of the Dead”.

In addition, one key character will return for the sequel which follows on from the first film that hit back in April to decent reviews and a very good performance on Netflix.

Speaking with Inverse about the in-development project, he also teased the potential return of Matthias Schweighofer’s Dieter character who gets his own spin-off with the prequel film “Army of Thieves” arriving on the service this week:

“But the real adventure would be to see what happened to him [Dieter] when that safe door closed. Did he get killed by Zeus or not? What happened? We don’t see him die on camera, and there’s still some time left. I won’t tell you what happens in Army of the Dead 2 – aka Planet of the Dead – but let’s just say that there’s a chance Dieter survives. And there’s a chance that brush with death would have caused him to want to find a jailed Gwendoline.”

Snyder is presently busy working on his planned “Rebel Moon” feature so it’s not clear when ‘Planet’ could go forward. “Army of Thieves” arrives on Netflix this Friday.
