Snyders Justice League Recut Cost Soars

Yesterday came the report of additional photography taking place on “Zack Snyder’s Justice League,” the four one-hour episodic format cut of the helmer’s original vision for the 2017 film.

The reshoots appear to be mostly just pickup shots and possibly bridging sequences to allow for this change of format from a feature film, which is why it only requires a little over a week of shooting.

Today The Wrap reports that early estimates of the project costing an additional $30 million are inaccurate. HBO Max boss Bob Greenblatt already said a while back that the film would exceed that announced figure, and today’s story indicates it has.

Apparently the entire four-episode run will clock in at a budget of $70 million according to the outlet. With Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot and Ray Fisher returning for the reshoots, this is turning out to be a much larger project than first thought.

“Zack Snyder’s Justice League” is targeting a 2021 release on HBO Max.
