“Spider-Man 2” Game Won’t Have Co-Op

During last week’s PlayStation Showcase, Insomniac Games revealed they were making a full-fledged sequel to “Marvel’s Spider-Man” and showed off a first trailer for the PS5-exclusive.

The trailer saw Peter Parker and Miles Morales fighting together and dealing with Venom. However the studio has since confirmed that the game will remain single-player only and not feature any co-op.

Games Head of Franchise Strategy and Studio Relations Ryan Schneider went into more detail about the game on the Playstation Blog, saying:

“We’re so thrilled to continue the journey of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales in their most epic single-player adventure yet. While pushing the capabilities of the console will be very exciting, we’re equally pumped to craft all-new stories for Peter and Miles in this sequel.

Just as in our previous Spider-Man games, we not only want to tell a great Super Hero story, but also deliver a compelling human story, one full of heart and humor that dives deep into the people behind the mask.”

Yuri Lowenthal and Nadji Jeter will reprise the roles of Peter Parker and Miles Morales respectively. The game is slated to launch sometime in 2023.
