Fandango has announced that the first day of pre-sales on Sony and Marvel’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home” was a roaring success.
According to the ticketing service site, those first-day pre-sales are the best they’ve seen since the first-day pre-sales of 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame” – a movie that had the biggest domestic opening of all time with $357.1 million.
In fact, it outstripped the first-day advance ticket sales of Marvel’s “Black Widow,” previously the first-day pre-sales record holder for 2021, in just the space of two hours. The numbers are higher than other relatively recent openers too including “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” and “Spider-Man: Far From Home”.
The project is considered the most anticipated film of the season and will open in cinemas everywhere on December 17th with early projections estimating a domestic opening alone of over $100 million.
