Synchronic Helmers Urge Wait For Vod

In an unusual move, the directors of the upcoming Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan-led sci-fi thriller “Synchronic” have urged fans to NOT see their film at a cinema.

The story follows two New Orleans paramedics responding to a series of strange drug-related deaths. Eventually they are led down an unexpected path that involves a synthetic narcotic known as synchronic

Well Go USA has set an October 23rd cinema and drive-in release for the film which hails from “Spring” and “The Endless” filmmakers Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. In a posting on Instagram, they confirmed the film’s release date but also say the date was made due to “distribution arrangements that are out of our control” and that:

“We want to be very clear: at the time of writing this, we personally wouldn’t go to an indoor movie theater, so we can’t encourage you to. To us, this isn’t only about feeling safe in a theater, this is also about the scientific community indicating that enclosed spaces like movie theaters are still a hazard for spreading COVID-19 to others.”

The directors instead recommended viewers possibly wait for the video on-demand release of their movie “in a few months.” For those who do go, they advise to “please adhere to all guidelines”.
