HBO Max has premiered the first trailer for its new pirate comedy series “Our Flag Means Death” starring Rhys Darby, Nat Faxon, Fred Armisen, Rory Kinnear, Joel Fry, Leslie Jones, Ewen Bremner, Con O’Neill, and Taika Waititi as Blackbeard.
Waititi also executive produces and directs the pilot episode of the series loosely based on the true adventures of Stede Bonnet, a pampered aristocrat who abandoned his life of privilege to become a ‘gentleman pirate’.
David Jenkins serves as showrunner on the six-episode run which kicks off on the cabler this March.
