Colin Woodell (“The Flight Attendant,” “The Call of the Wild”) has scored the lead role in Starz’s upcoming “John Wick” prequel series “The Continental,” the actor playing a younger version of Ian McShane’s Winston Scott.

In addition, five others have newly joined the project including Mishel Prada (“Vida”) as KD, Hubert Point Du-Jour (“Blindspot”) as Miles, Jessica Allain (“The Laundromat”) as Lou, Nhung Kate (“The Better Man”) as Yen, and Ben Robson (“Animal Kingdom”) as Frankie. All six join the already cast Mel Gibson.

The story will explore the origin behind the titular hotel-for-assassins through the eyes and actions of Scott, who is dragged into the Hell-scape of a 1975 New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind.

Winston charts a deadly course through New York’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the iconic hotel, which serves as the meeting point for the world’s most dangerous criminals.

The project will air as a three-episode event series and hails from writers and executive producers Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward who serve as showrunners. Chad Stahelski, Derek Kolstad, David Leitch, Shawn Simmons, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese, Basil Iwanyk, and Erica Lee are all executive producing.
