The CW’s flagship DC series “The Flash” will likely get a ninth (and possibly final) season from Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television.
Leading man Grant Gustin is finalizing a new contract to return as the title character in the hit series, the contract is only for one year though a multi-year offer was made.
The new contract reportedly comes with a hefty raise for the actor who has also capped his involvement at fifteen episodes.
With the renewal now likely, the series would become the longest-running Arrowverse series on the network, and is still a strong performer both in linear and digital.
The news comes as The CW is undergoing a potential majority ownership sale and the fate of its various shows is unclear. “The Flash” resumes the remainder of its eighth season on March 9th
