Tom Cruise Rents Cruise Ship For Mi 7 Shoot

Tom Cruise isn’t just the star but also the long-time producer of the “Mission: Impossible” film franchise and as a producer he’s determined to make sure production on the currently shooting seventh film is as safe as possible – even if it comes at major personal expense.

The Sun reports that the Cruise has hired a large cruise ship, named the Hurtigruten watercraft, to be used by the cast and crew of the movie whilst filming in Norway in an effort to protect against infection. The rental of the ship for the shoot is said to be costing Cruise in the ballpark of $700,000.

The ship will keep the necessary cast and crew isolated from the general public as much as possible and everyone staying onboard will undergo daily testing to catch any cases of infection before they can spread.

Shooting for the movie continues at a steady pace with recent photos showing Cruise doing a motorcycle stunt involving riding a bike off a giant ramp 500 feet into the air. Christopher McQuarrie helms both this and an eighth film in the series, a two-parter expected to serve as the swan song for Cruise’s Ethan Hunt character.

Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Henry Czerny, Nicolas Hoult, Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, and Shea Whigham co-star in the film with the seventh to arrive November 19th 2021 and the eighth on November 4th 2022.
