Showtime has premiered the trailer for “The Man Who Fell To Earth,” a modern take on Walter Nevis’ 1963 novel and Nicolas Roeg’s 1976 film adaptation which starred David Bowie.
Here, Chiwetel Ejiofor steps into the shoes of the visiting alien who arrives on Earth at a turning point in human evolution and must confront his own past to determine our future.
Naomie Harris co-stars as a doctor the alien seeks help from. Jimmi Simpson, Clarke Peters, Rob Delaney, Sonya Cassidy, and Annelle Olayele also star.
Current “Star Trek” series alums Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet are the showrunners on the new series which aims to offer a more ‘uplifting’ take on the source material than Roeg’s film. The series will debut sometime this Spring.
