Jacksons Beatles Doco Get Back Clip

Following the masterful remastering work done on WW1 footage for “They Shall Not Grow Old,” filmmaker Peter Jackson has now employed similar tech for his anticipated music documentary “The Beatles: Get Back”.

Originally slated to be released in September, the film was pushed into 2021 because of the pandemic. Today though Jackson himself has revealed footage from the project in a new extended clip.

The film had access to 56 hours of never-been-seen footage of the band. Jackson says “we’re about halfway through the edit now” and offered this sneak peek to show off “the sort of vibe and the energy that the film is going to have” which is why it’s not a trailer or individual sequence from the film but rather a “montage of moments” as he dubs it.

While the famed 1970 doco “Let It Be” was a downbeat work documenting the group’s breakup, this one is much more upbeat. No specific date or release plan has yet been set.
