Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel will soon hold urgent transfer talks with club officials, according to reports.

The German manager took over in late January and has engineered a renaissance at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues had won just two of their last eight Premier League games when Frank Lampard was dismissed.

Since then, Tuchel has taken them to within touching distance of a top-four place.

He’s also overseen their quality Champions League campaign. They will meet Real Madrid in the last four after overcoming Porto in the quarter-finals.

However, Tuchel is still dealing with a squad largely assembled by Lampard.

Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell and Edouard Mendy were all signed before he took charge.

According to Evening Standard, Tuchel will hold transfer talks with Chelsea officials in the coming weeks.

They include club director Marina Granovskaia and former Chelsea keeper Petr Cech, who is now the technical advisor.

One major talking point will be the future of Werner. He’s struggled to adapt in England and has scored just five times in his debut season.

That’s led to him being called a ‘blind horse’ and suggestions that he should be replaced in the first-team.

Tuchel will discuss his vision for Werner, and whether or not he should be sold, with Granovskaia and Cech.

If the Blues were to cut their losses and sell Werner after just one year, then some world-class strikers could be targeted.

They’ve been closely linked with Dortmund’s Erling Haaland. He’s also wanted by Manchester United, Manchester City and all of Europe’s other heavy-hitters.

Another option to replace Werner is departing City legend Sergio Aguero.

The Argentinian is out of contract in June and may be brought to Stamford Bridge on a free transfer.

Tuchel is expected to keep hold of star players Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic and Kai Havertz.

Mount is becoming an integral first-team member and has shown his form on the international stage, too.

Tuchel has a good relationship with Pulisic as he first worked with him at Dortmund. It’s hoped that he will get the best out of the talented American winger.

Havertz had a poor start at Chelsea in a similar vein to Werner. He seemed to turn his fortunes around slightly with a glowing performance in the 4-1 win at Crystal Palace.
